National Cross Country Championships in Stromlo, Canberra won by Jack Rayner over Andy Buchanan, Ed Marks. Gen Gregson continued her strong form taking the title over Leanne Pompeani and Holly Campbell.

Adelaide Marathon won by Fraser Darcy 2:24:00 and Tara Palm 2:48:10 while the Half Marathon won by Jacob Cocks in 1:05 and Eloise Wellings in 1:13:13

Matt Smith won the 12km Perth City to Surf in 36:49, as did Sinead Noonan in 41:55

In the 800m heats of the Budapest World Athletics Champs Peter Bol ran 1:46.75, Joseph Deng advanced to Semi Final. Marco Arop of Canada was the gold medallist in the event.
In the Women’s 800m Semi Finals, ran Abbey Caldwell 1:59.05 to advance, Catriona Bisset 1:59.94 Ellie Sandford 2:03.55 in the heats. Mary Moora of Kenya took the title ahead of Great Britain’s Keeley Hodgkinson and the USA’s Athing Mu.
1500m Final Jessica Hull 7th in 3:59.54 in the 1500m Final, with Faith Kipyegon winning 3:54.87. Josh Kerr wins the gold medal in 3:29.38, upsetting and outkicking Jakob Ingebrigsten in the 1500m Final to be deny him the title of World Champion two years in a row, with fellow Norwegian Narve Nordas just .03 seconds behind him to take bronze.

Stewart McSweyn 13th in the 5000m  final in 13:26.58 while Morgan McDonald ran 13:43.58 in the heat stage. Jakob Ingebrigsten defended his title as 5000m World Champion outkicking Mo Katir of Spain, while Faith Kipyegon took home a rare double in winning the 5000m gold medal over Sifan Hassan and Beatrice Chebet.
Jessica Hull tried to back up from the 1500m final to run 15:15.89 in the 5000m heats, while in the other heat Rose Davies ran a season best of 15:07.93, and Lauren Ryan ran 15:40.23.

In the Women’s Steeplechase heats Brielle Erbacher posted 9:57.11 in her heat, while Cara Feain-Ryan ran a PB of 9:29.60 and Amy Cashin ran 9:31.07. Winfred Yavi of Bahrain won the gold medal in the final, as did Soufaine El Bakkali of Morocco in the Men’s race.

The Women’s Marathon in warm conditions was won by Amane Beriso Shankule of Ethiopia in 2:24:23, while Lisa Weightman was the standout for Australia finishing 16th in 2:30:50, with Sarah Klein 41st in 2:37:31 and Izzi Batt-Doyle 43rd in 2:37:53. The Men’s Marathon won by Victor Kiplangat of Uganda, ahead Teferi of Israel and Luel Gebresalise of Ethiopia
