On an eventful Maurie Plant Meet in Melbourne, Oli Hoare takes out the John Landy Mile in 3:52.24, Cameron Myers broke Mike Hillardt’s 43-year old U20 Australian record running 3:55.44, a record for 16 year olds. Sam Tanner from New Zealand placed second.

Jessica Hull outkicked Abby Caldwell to take the Women’s 1500m in 4:07.11, with Georgia Griffith in third.
U20 World Cross Champion Ishmael Kipkirui of Kenya outkicks Stewy McSweyn 3000m. Similarly U20 World Cross Champion Senayet Getachew of Ethiopia won the Women’s 3000m ahead of Prisca Chesang of Uganda and Nozomi Tanaka of Japan while Linden Hall was first Aussie and fourth overall in 8:50.89.
Kiwi duo James Preston and Brad Mathas battled it out in the 800m, Preston winning in 1:45.85, just edging Mathas.

Catriona Bisset placed second at the Birmingham Indoor Meet running 1:59.83 in the 800 behind winner Keely Hodgkinson. Guduf Tsegay of Ethiopia narrowly missed the 3000m world record running 8:16.69

Lisa Weightman moved to 3rd fastest marathon on the all-time list as she placed 4th in the Osaka Marathon, running a personal best of 2:23:15. Marnie Ponton placed 11th in 2:33:48, with Helen Bekele Tola first overall in 2:22:16. Hailemaryam Kiros of Ethiopia outkicked Vincent Kiplangat to win overall in 2:06:01.
