Oli Hoare is the 1500m Commonwealth Games Champion, taking down a world class field to set a personal best and Commonwealth Games Record of 3:30.12 and moves to second on the all-time list for Australia.
Matt Ramsden ran 3:48.98 in the second heat, while Stewy McSweyn withdrew prior to the games citing flu.

Ben Buckingham 8:34.17 for 6th place in the 3000m Steeplechase final with Ed Trippas in 8:37.42 for 8th.

Jack Rayner ran 13:24.90 for 7th in the 5000m final while Matt Ramsden ran in 13:30.08 for 10th.

 

Amy Cashin ran 5th in the 3000m Steeplechase final with 9:35.63, while Brielle Erbacher placed 8th in 10.59.64.

Izzy Batt-Doyle came 8th in the Women’s 5000m Final for 15:13.53, while Rose Davies placed 17th in 15:41.23 with Nat Rule in 15:51.31 for 18th.

 

Ky Robinson placed 6th in the 10000m, with a time of 27:44.33 that moves him to 10th on the all time list.

Izzy Batt-Doyle ran 32:04.52 for 8th in the 10000m, in a race that saw a dramatic finish with Eilish McColgan of Scotland just edging Kenya’s Irene Chepet Cheptai.

 

Peter Bol won the silver medal in the Men’s 800m, in a tactical time 1:47.66, just behind Kenya’s Wyclife Kinyamal. Charlie Hunter ran 1:49.94 in the heats.

Catriona Bisset placed 5th in a time of 1:59.41 in the Women’s 800m final. Georgia Griffith set a seasonal best of 2:00.36 in the heat but was unable to advance.

Lakeside:10 saw Sam McEntee win in a time of 29:12 for St. Kevin’s AAC over Andre Waring and Seth O’Donnell, Georgia Hansen for Box Hill was first across the line in 33:41 ahead of Rachel McGuinness for South Melbourne and Michelle Pearson of St Stephens Harriers. In the teams competition St Stephens Harriers took out the Men’s Premier Division, ahead of Box Hill, Bendigo. Glenhuntly took out the Women’s Premier Division ahead of South Melbourne and Melbourne University.

NSW Athletics hosted the Short Course XC at Mount Panorama as a preview to the World Cross Country Championships. Holly Campbell won the Women’s Open 6km over Aynslee Van Graan and Ella Higgins.
