James Barker chats with Brad to talk about his 30-year competitive running career as well as his work as a renown soft tissue therapist. They look back at his personal bests including historic 2 mile race, and shoe laces coming undone in his marathon debut then looking back at his training from as far back as age 7, training at intensity at Little Aths and the different approach with his own sons. James looks back at the different coaches he’s had and their different philosophies and team cultures, including Andrew Lloyd and Dick Telford, to how his training has changed from his Junior days to as he is now at Masters level.
They focus on his work as a soft tissue therapist at Clinic 88 and lecturer at the Canberra Institute of Technology, what lead to his interest in his specialist field and what makes a good therapist then close with the common running based injuries he sees, what causes their overload and recommendations for treatment.
