Camille Buscomb joins Julian to talk about where she sits in the Kiwi Athletic scene and growing up in the distance running scene in Hamilton, starting at age 8 and developing a love of racing. She looks back at the decision between pursuing fashion design and running out of high school before heading over to Purdue University, recounting some of the challenging experiences in the US before transferring back home to New Zealand, going through multiple coaches before finally joining the Melbourne Track Club and seeing first-hand the culture of hard work and confidence. Camille talks about what’s required to be a professional athlete, planning and seizing her opportunities in both studying and athletics as well as why she prefers track over cross country and whether a marathon is on the cards for the future and her expectations ahead of the World Athletics Championships in Doha.
